Are Humans Doomed?

How the hell would I know? If I could answer that I would probably also know the lottery numbers and would become supreme ruler of Earth by buying everything with my lottery winnings.

I do have an opinion though, and to me it seems probable that we're not going to make it. It just feels like our little monkey brains can't make the kind of decisions that will allow 8 billion people to live on the planet without using up all the resources. The problem IMO is one of education and philosophy. We need a large chunk of 8 billion people to settle on one philosophy and it has to be one that can convince us that we're all on the same team.

If you could bet on that happening I'd bet against, and that makes me sad. I don't think any of our problems are really that big, the issue is that we're clever monkeys who have convinced ourselves that we're special. We need to see and accept that we're just clever monkeys, but also that we're clever enough that we can be human if we just put our minds to it.
